Milk and IVF

Some IVF units advise that patients drink large quantities of milk during their cycle. This is to make sure that they are taking in the enough protein.

As discussed earlier milk is considered to create dampness within the body. Dampness within the female reproductive system can make women susceptible to the formation of cysts and can disrupt the normal functioning of the menstrual cycle.

Daverick Leggett in his book Recipes for self-healing suggests warming milk with cardamom in order to make it easier to digest. He also suggests not drinking it while eating meat since the acidic environment in the stomach required to digest meat will be neutralized by the milk and lead to dampness.
